Project:Dumas "Wow in Action" - Word of the Week Blog School: Dumas Technology Academy Teachers: Lindsay Johnson and Sharron Carrothers Grade Level: Pre-K- 8
Project Purpose: The purpose of this blog is to archive all the vocabulary that Dumas Technology Academy teaches as a school-wide Word of the Week. All definitions come from WordCentral.com. Comments by students will show the word in action. Can you use the word in a conversation? Read it in a book, magazine? See it on a sign? Hear it in a film? Share how you saw or used the word in action! Please include your first name and room number. Project Description: Every Monday morning, Mrs. Sharron Carothers, our Media Center Specialist, chooses a vocabulary word that every PK - 8th grade student is taught. Some rooms have students write stories including the word, act out what the word means, or look for the word in action. The word is posted on the Word of the Week (WOW!) Blog and students are asked to write sentences including the word and leave it as a comment on the blog. Also, Blogging about our weekly Word of the Week will archive all the vocabulary we learn.
